As already predicted before the weekend, the weather changed dramatically by Sunday morning as heavy rain poured down and changed the race conditions within minutes. Wet race has been declared and a rest of 5 cars from Saturday`s battle made its way to the starting grid. Neither Veronika Jaksch nor Michael Grosse-Aschhoff and also Karl-Heinz Becker and Pierre Schröder were able to compete due to their defective and irreparable race cars. Martin Kindler decided to declare forfeit, he felt simply too insecure to race his F2 in such difficult conditions.

But there is always the one, who shines! And this time it was again Kurt Böhlen (SUI), the Swiss Rain Man. He is widely known within the racing community as a fantastic pilot in wet conditions and he again confirmed his ability to adopt to such circumstances and delivered a flawless and remarkable performance winning race 2 of the MAXX Formula GP Italy with a huge gap of 1:03 minutes prior to Saturday`s race winner Phil Stratford, who probably hasn`t so much wet race experience as it never rains in Southern California… Surprisingly Wolfgang Jordan finished the race on P3, also showing a stunning performance in the rain. It was literally a miracle, that all 5 starters finished their races and were able to withstand the tricky track conditions. P4 has been finally taken by Felix Grosse-Aschhoff (GER) and P5 went to Anton Werner (GER).
